After more than 250 people attended our Passing the Flame installation service, with 130 in Kenya, we recognized a need for a global exchange of culture, song, and story. That is why we are pleased to announce our Kenya Pilot of the Global Worship Exchange.

Rev. Qiyamah started Sister Souurce's Global Justice Initiative in 2024 by taking a pilgrimage through Africa, interviewing and communing with thousands of people. She interacted with U/Us (this is how we write global UUs), who were incredibly inspiring and thoughtful. She also met robust communities across Kenya that were fighting for community across the differences of their language, distances, and tribes. The need for training was expressed in areas like choir development, resource guides, translation, and UU theology. Their UU communities are largely covered by the umbrella of UUCK, The UU Council/Church of Kenya. It spans six regions and 40 congregations, presenting strengths and challenges due to Kenya's size and cultural and linguistic diversity.

This led to the idea, after Passing the Flame, of blending Rev. Qiyamah's research with UUCK's incredible talent in worship arts. Sister Source boasts tons of music, poetry, and sermons in our ResoUUrce Library (and by email!). We are pleased to now have Kenyan additions to this library, which will continue to grow after each monthly service.

Our service will be a monthly opportunity for those around the world looking for sound theology, passionate and progressive preaching, liberal topics, and queer-friendly leadership.

USA Folx: This space may be especially attractive to those in ministry looking for a chill place to take their collar off or

for people looking to bolster their allyship (which starts with strong relationship building)!

Our siblings in Kenya will offer parts of our service each month, as a part of our "Living Classroom" experiential learning model. They will also attend an optional fellowship and lesson before service (open to all).
